Annual Event Inspires

On Friday 22 November we held our annual event at Bolton Stadium Hotel. 200 professionals joined us to listen to our keynote speakers Nick Gazzard from the Hollie Guard Foundation and Yasmin Javed from the Fawziyah Javed foundation.

The event opened with Jill giving an overview of services for the past year and the importance of the Authentic voice and listening to survivors to shape future service.

As always, we ended the first half of the incredibly emotional and moving tribute video to those who have lost their lives as a result of Domestic abuse in the past twelve months.

Nick Gazzard gave a powerful presentation on the loss of his daughter Hollie who was murdered by her ex-partner and explained how everyone can use the Hollie Guard App to keep themselves and family members safe.

Yasmin Javed told Fawziyah’s story that was featured on Channel Four’s The Push. She gave an incredibly emotional account on how her only child Fawziyah was pushed from Arthurs seat in Edinburgh and murdered by her husband. Fawziyah was pregnant and was due to leave him and return home to Yasmin and Mohammed.

Amina our Community Hub Coordinator also told her story from survivor to staff and the room were left in awe of her inspirational journey.

The audience feedback was excellent and people left feeling both inspired and humbled
