The Board of Trustees for Endeavour are recruiting!
Are you passionate about making a difference in tackling domestic abuse in Bolton?
Would you like to join us in supporting a hardworking and caring community domestic abuse charity based in Bolton?
We are looking for female Trustees to join our well-established board. We enjoy fundraising, attending events, learning new skills and working on projects that make a real difference to survivors and families across Bolton.
Trustees are responsible for overseeing our strategic plan, governance and finances, using a thoughtful and collaborative approach. We are dedicated to supporting our charity to carry out its aims and objectives.
Representation matters and we particularly welcome applications from women with lived experience, women from underrepresented groups, and women with diverse backgrounds, experiences and skills.
Endeavour was established in 1997 and provides flexible, wraparound support for the whole community aged 16-99. We support survivors of domestic abuse to move forward with their lives, prevent repeated abuse and reduce the direct and indirect impact of domestic abuse on families and communities.
What do we want from trustees?
- A commitment to the values and aims of Endeavour
- A commitment to understanding your responsibilities and liabilities as a trustee
- A respectful, non-judgmental approach to people from different backgrounds and cultures
- Have good listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to exercise good independent judgment
- A willingness to engage with financial information and governance responsibilities
- An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection responsibilities
- A willingness to learn and undertake training relevant to the role
The board meet for approximately two hours on the second Monday evening of every month, alongside one full day a year dedicated to further development. Trustees are expected to read papers in advance and actively contribute to discussions and decision making. There are opportunities to work on specific projects aligned to the objectives of the charity. Trustees are also asked to attend events throughout the year to support the charity with representation and fundraising.
This is an unpaid voluntary role, however full induction, support and training will be provided
Whether you are an experienced trustee or are looking to take your first steps onto a board of committed trustees, we would love to hear from you.
