Survivors Forum

Survivors Forum – Authentic Voice

People with lived experience should be at the centre of shaping services, policies and responses to domestic abuse.

Our Survivors Forum creates a safe and supportive space for people to share experiences, influence change and help improve the systems that affect survivors and their families.

Through the forum, survivors can use their voices to inform local services, challenge barriers and shape future support in meaningful ways.

Survivors Forum – Authentic Voice

The Echo Project

The Survivors Forum hosts the Echo Project — a lived experience initiative bringing survivors together to influence practice, policy and service development.

Echo is built on the belief that people with direct experience of domestic abuse are experts in what support works, what barriers exist and what needs to change.

The project supports survivors to:

  • Share experiences safely and voluntarily
  • Influence local services and decision-making
  • Contribute to training, consultation and service design
  • Build confidence and connection with others
  • Use lived experience to help improve outcomes for future survivors

You can take part in a group or individually, depending on what feels right for you.

Participation is always optional, and people can engage in ways that feel comfortable and safe.

A Safe and Supportive Space

We understand that sharing experiences can feel daunting.

The forum is trauma-informed, supportive and focused on ensuring people feel listened to, respected and valued.

There is no pressure to speak publicly or share personal details. Some people attend simply to listen and connect with others who understand.
